"Do not wait for others to ask you for your help."
"Philanthropy has always been a priority in my life. Growing up, my family has experienced moments of great wealth and also moments in need. I'll never forget the feeling of gratefulness when our family home burned down during my senior year of high school and a swim teammate brought jeans, polos, and accessories to practice to give to me. Because it was right before Christmas and all of our gifts had burned in the fire, we began receiving random donations for presents and necessities from the local church. Without the help of others, our family would have been in a very dire situation. When you're not hurting, remember that someone else is. When I have plenty, I am always reminded of the times when I had very little. One piece of advice I have for everyone: DO NOT WAIT for others to ask you for help, and do not offer it with a question. Simply give. And do not advertise your efforts. If those whom you have helped want to advertise the impact for you, let them. But you may expose or embarrass someone in the process of trying to further your reputation - which is against your original intent to help. For everyone who has helped me, I plan to pay it forward. If you'd like to join me, please support any of the following charities that I am currently working with or have worked with in the past."
